For the past 12 years prior to relocating to Montana Jim had actively compeated in well over 100 photographic events. He literally has a drawer full of ribbons and trophies as results of these efforts. Through competition skills are honed to achieve higher standards and results. These efforts along with the years of working in the field have resulted in the imagery that is now available in the files, some of which is shown on this website.
In 1992 Jim took first place and best of show in the "Great Lakes Wildlife and Art Festival" which was held yearly in Clare Michigan. This honor of receiving this coveted award was the outcome of thousands of hours of field work to capture intimate and special moments in nature.
